November Meeting Update
We have some new officers for the coming year. Terry
Alexander became the new Director, Cliff Gandy the new Assistant
Director, Bob Bloom the Head Road Captain, and Debora Alexander
will be taking on two positions, LOH Officer and Photographer. A
big thank you to these new officers and a big thank you to the
officers who stayed.
November
Meeting Thanks
November meetings are especially hectic. I would like
to give a special thanks and recognition to Jere Brown, Kurt and
Kathy Schroeder, and Debora Alexander. While everyone else was
eating doughnuts and socializing, these guys were hard at work at
the tables renewing memberships, collecting donations, and signing
people up for the Christmas Party. Thanks guys and gals.
Safety Tip Of
The week
Both Brakes Every Time. This is
probably the most important thing a motorcyclist should know! The
front brake is 70% of a motorcycles stopping power. There is a
reason why the larger bikes have two sets of brake discs and
calipers on the front and only one on the rear. This is not my
opinion but established fact. In the near future we will be having
speakers from MSF and police motors to confirm and talk about this.

Dues for year-$20
It's not too early to start paying our
dues. They are $20 and this is probably the best bargain I get all
year.
Rumor
There is a possibility of a dues increase. If it comes about fear
not. If you pay your dues before December 31 of this year, your
dues for 2019 will remain at $20. You will not realize an increase
until 2020. New members or current members paying after December 31
will pay $25. Even new members paying before December 31 will be
covered for the rest of 2018 and 2019 for $20. Again if it happens.

Chef party at Kathy Schroeder's house. Come see the latest cooking tools
and learn to make a fun one pot meal and desert.

Saturday Lyle will lead us down to Hidden Treasures and John Banks
will be our sweep. Glad to have you back John. We will meet at
the Race Trac on SR207 at I95 at 9:30am...KSU 10am.

Near Future
Activities Meeting 12/02/18
Our activities meeting is scheduled
at Caddy Shack in World Golf Village at 5:00pm on Sunday December
2. Its the time we get together and plan the first half of the
year. Everyone is invited and is encouraged participate. Road captains
are encouraged to make this meeting and present rides and events
they would like to lead and sweep. However remember you don't have
to be a Road Captain to lead a ride. If you have someplace you
would like to take the chapter this is the time to do it. There is
also an Officer's Meeting before the Activities Meeting. It all
starts at 5:00 but feel free to show up early and eat.
Christmas Party
Ameci's Restaurant 12/08/18
This event is on
Saturday December 8, 2018 at 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm (Cocktails 6-7,
Dinner @ 7) at Amici Italian Restaurant, 1915 A1A South, St
Augustine (Rt 312 and A1A) For you early birds, Ameci has a happy
hour in the bar from 4:00pm - 6:00pm but please be courteous and
remember we are not allowed in the banquet area until 6:00 unless
you are part of the set up.
The deadline to sign up and
remit payment is Saturday, 12/01/18 Please sign up on link at the
top of the newsletter or our web page.
A complete
party for only $25.00 per person! BTW this is a members only price
but feel free to bring a guest for $45. It would be great to get
that non-member to join so they can be a part of all our activities
and savings for the future.
(The actual cost of this event is considerably higher, so again
your club is subsidizing a great party!)
Our old friend Doc is DJing again this year so you know the music
will be outstanding. We will be doing a Secret Santa gift
exchange again this year. (Gift value should = $15)
Participation is optional.
Please wrap all gifts. Note: the party will also serve
as our December Chapter Meeting, so Terry may address any
outstanding business issues.
Appetizers, Salad, Dinner (choice of 3 main courses) and
Dessert! What more could you ask for at a great party!!!
Dinner choices are the same as last year:
- Herb crusted salmon
with roasted potatoes and vegetables
- Chicken Francese
with angel hair pasta
- Steak tips with
potatoes and vegetables

by 12/01/18 or at the November meeting or any sponsored club
ride. Give it to an officer or the ride
leader.

Thanks
A big thanks to Charles
and Merle for setting up a ride after the meeting. The original
place didn't work out but we had a lot of fun and good food
at Four Rivers BBQ.
Thanks also to Frank for leading our Sunday ride to Castaways and
to Steve for having our back. It was a beautiful day and good
roads. We also had a new rider show up and join. Welcome Ivonne
Grau.
